What will I achieve through the Tax Technician qualification?
- An understanding of the practical operation of the Irish Tax system and tax rules
- The ability to calculate income tax, corporation tax, capital taxes, VAT and payroll tax liabilities with an emphasis on claiming any relevant reliefs and exemptions
- An awareness of the tax administration requirements for individuals and companies including completion of tax returns
How will I learn?
The Tax Technician programme is online and module-based, providing great flexibility as you study. Experienced lecturers will work through the course materials alongside examples and real-life scenarios so you can grasp the fundamentals across all tax heads.
The four modules in this qualification cover the fundamentals of
- income tax & payroll
- capital taxes
- corporation tax
- VAT
How will I be assessed?
You will sit four exams – one for each module. You can choose to stagger your exams over multiple exam sittings. There are two exam sittings each year.
Successful candidates qualify as Tax Technicians with competence in tax compliance across each tax head.
