The interaction between the Medium Enterprises Division of Revenue and the Institute, along with its members, is a very important forum. 

The willingness of Institute members and representatives from Revenue to engage on practical issues is beneficial.

Medium Enterprises Division

Revenue’s Medium Enterprises Division (MED) is primarily responsible for the management and development of service, compliance and audit functions for medium enterprises with an annual Irish turnover of more than €8.8 million (but less than €190 million) and the proprietary directors and subsidiaries/parent of companies dealt with by the division. 

It also manages the tax affairs of certain individual taxpayers with a high level of income and individuals with significant capital transactions.

Latest Developments 

A meeting between the Irish Tax Institute and Revenue’s MED was held in March 2025. The meeting focused on important issues for members working with MED clients, including:

  • Compliance activity and areas of focus for the division

  • Engaging with MED day-to-day

  • The Revenue Technical Service (RTS)
